1. Regular Exercise

Exercise at a moderate rate can  lower your chances of getting a stroke and heart attack by 30%.

Doing a 30 minutes of exercise that can gets your heart pumping at least 3 days a week is recommended.

Push-up, brisk walking or swimming are some good options of simple exercise you can do.

If your schedules are tight, you break your exercise into small phases.

For instance a 15-minute push-up in the morning and another before lunch or a 15-minutes walking.

2. Do Your Heart Medication Correctly

Always take your heart medicines correctly.

A good number of people don't take their heart medications the way their doctor prescribed.

Avoid anything that will lead you to not taking your heart medications correctly.

3. Eat Wisely

Always eat diets that are healthy for your heart.

Certain diets are not good for your heart.

Eating healthy diets you could lower your chances of getting heart disease by 30%.

 

Always fill your plate with different kinds of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fish.

Avoid processed that often are high in salt and filled with preservatives.

4.  Drink Alcohol Moderately

5. Eat Chocolate Moderately

Eating chocolates can reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke.

Go for dark chocolate, and make sure the ingredients are at least 70% cacao. It's filled with nutrients that help protect your ticker.

Studies have shown that people who eat chocolate more than once a week lower their risk of heart disease by almost 40% and stroke by about 30%.

But do eat it in small portions so you don't gain excess weight.

6. Don't Smoke

Smoking raises your risk of heart attacks and strokes. The best option is to quit smoking.

7. Watch Your Symptoms

Always see your doctor if you feel symptoms that are unusual, like shortness of breath, changes in your heart rhythm, persistent light headache or extreme tiredness.
