Vitamin B2 is plays an important role in the production vitamin B3 (Niacin). This is because FAD ( flavin adenine dinucleotide) which is one of the active form of vitamin B2 is required for conversion of the amino acid tryptophan to niacin (vitamin B3).

4.  HELPS OTHER VITAMINS AND MINERALS

Levels of certain vitamins, chemicals and minerals in the body is seem be dependent onlevels of B2 in the body. For instance, vitamin B2 changes vitamin B6 and folate (vitamin B9) into forms that the body can use (i.e. their active forms).

Synthesis of an active form of folate (5-methyltetrahydrofolate) from 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate by Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase is FADH2 dependent.

5.  Proper Energy Levels

Vitamin B2 is important useful body to metabolize food for energy and to maintain proper brain, nerve, digestive, and hormone function.

Vitamin B2 is required  in order to break down proteins into amino acids, fats, and carbohydrates in the form of glucose. This helps convert nutrients from food into usable bodily energy that helps to maintain a healthy metabolism.
